Below find details on how to help.

Make a cash donation - The most common form of a charitable gift is cash usually taking the form of a check. Checks should be made payable to The Reach for the Stars Foundation. Tax benefits may be available for gifts of cash if deductions are itemized. Cash donations are not subject to federal income tax assuming they were made to a qualified charity which can result in a welcome savings for the donor.

Securities- There are often substantial tax advantages available to the donor who pledges long-term securities. The donor avoids potential tax on the capital gain of the gifted property and any sales commission that would be payable on the sale of the asset. In addition, the donor receives a charitable deduction for the full, fair market value of such gift. Consultants from the Foundation will be pleased to discuss the most appropriate method of transfer with you and your financial advisers.

Savings & Retirement accounts- By naming the Foundation as beneficiary of funds remaining in bank accounts, money markets, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA's), KEOGH plans and/or other retirement and pension funds, these funds can be excluded from the donor's taxable estate.

Real estate/Art/Collectibles -Real estate, including fractional portions of property, art or collectibles included in a donor's estate can be a meaningful gift to the Foundation while at the same time easing the tax burden on the family. A charitable donation of these items is calculated on the fair market value of the property, art, or collectible and can be classified as a charitable deduction on federal income tax, thus avoiding capital gains tax. Valuation for income tax purposes may require an independent appraisal.

Life Insurance -Frequently, a prospective donor finds that he/she has a life insurance policy that is no longer needed to protect family members. Rather than canceling the policy, it might be worth considering to bequeath the policy to the Foundation and/or list the Foundation as the beneficiary on the policy. In such a case, a donor may realize tax benefits through a donation of this type. If a donor knows in advance that they wish to leave something from their estate to the Foundation, the donor may wish to specifically purchase life insurance with the intention of contributing it to the Foundation during the donor's lifetime

Bequests -Over the years, many individuals have provided generously for charity in their wills. A designated bequest of cash, stock, real estate, furniture, art work, IRA's, pension benefits, closely-held stock, etc., is a simple way of providing for the Foundation while benefiting the donor's estate through tax savings. This form of gift is simple and will ultimately provide benefits to help secure the future work of The Reach for the Stars Foundation.

Matching Gifts- Many donors (or their spouses) may serve on a board or work for a company with matching gift programs. If you work for such a company, your gifts could be increased substantially by the company's "match," which sometimes is based on a ratio as high as 10-1. If your company does not participate in this sort of program, you may wish to encourage them to do so. When making a gift to The Reach for the Stars Foundation, contact your company's matching gift office to register and qualify your gift.

Gifts of Airline Miles- Many business professionals or frequent travelers accrue thousands of frequent flier miles over a lifetime. Often, these miles go unused, but could provide the operations of The Reach for the Stars Foundation a great benefit. Many airline carriers offer programs to donate these miles to a designated charity upon your request. Contact one of your airline representatives for instructions for making this type of gift.

Sponsorship Opportunities- The Reach For the Stars Foundation conducts many events and fundraising opportunities throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to introduce your organization to many influential individuals in our area.
