The
Reach For The Stars Foundation Donates $1,100 to Cystic Fibrosis
Twins
Bay
Harbor Islands, FL (June 11, 2004)
-The Reach for the Stars Foundation benefiting individuals
with Cystic Fibrosis has matched a $1,100 donation by the
Miami Country Day School's (MCDS) Reach for the Stars Club
to six-year-old CF twins Danielle and Darcia Munroe. The girls
received a total of $2,200, presented to them and their guardian,
Cyntyche Darling, at a MCDS awards assembly.
The
money given to the Munroes by the MCDS Reach for the Stars
Club will be used for dance lessons for the twins, while the
matched money from the Foundation will be used to help pay
off some bills the family has been unable to afford, due to
the costly nature of CF.
"We are incredibly grateful to both The Reach for the Stars
Foundation and Miami Country Day School," said Ms. Darling.
"Cystic Fibrosis is an extremely expensive disease and any
assistance provided to us is a help."
"The Reach for the Stars Foundation is happy to help these
two beautiful girls and their family. Cystic Fibrosis is an
uphill battle, but the Foundation is doing its part to help
ease some of the financial burdens that families encounter,"
noted Foundation President Stacey Levy.
The Reach for the Stars Foundation is dedicated to alleviating
the myriad of devastating consequences suffered by those afflicted
with cystic fibrosis and their families. The Foundation is
dedicated to bridging the gap between living with CF and finding
a cure by offering assistance and helping to improve the quality
of life. Brian and Stacey Levy, whose 12-year-old daughter
Ellie suffers from the disease, created the foundation with
the help of their good friend Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay
Fiedler. For more information on The Reach for the Stars Foundation,
